I see the same thing on my wife's hi-resolution laptop display (see the first attached screen shot).  The problems are even worse in other places in Toolkit (see the second attached screen shot).

I'll bet you're using "Large Fonts".  To check this (at least in Windows XP) ...
Right-click on your desktop background and select Properties.  Select the Settings tab and click the Advanced button.  On the General tab look at "DPI Setting".  If it's anything other than "Normal Size (96 DPI)" you'll have problems of this sort in Toolkit.

Toolkit was not designed with support for anything other than 96 dpi screens in mind and it's not something that's easily added now (i.e., don't expect to see it fixed in an "update" to Toolkit).  If you have a screen that really *needs* something other than 96 dpi (more and more modern wide-screen laptops, for example), you're kind of stuck.  With such a screen you can have Toolkit work properly *or* you can have things outside of Toolkit large enough to read, but you can't have both at the same time.

Its a shame for older eyes that we cannot use the larger fonts and still use Toolkit.  I don't have a problem with Toolkit when smaller but all my other programs.  Would be nice if they would fix it.  Have a 19" LCD monitor which was great with the larger fonts.  Thanks Helene

Unfortunately, Toolkit was written years ago (and the updates have had to stick with the underlying code).  Either the person who wrote the original Toolkit didn't know how to make things scalable with screen resolution or the tools he used didn't permit it.  In any case, we'll have to wait until Toolkit 6 for this to be fixed ... hopefully.
