>>Now that summer is coming to an end, it's time to figure out what to do with your easy, breezy hair>>

Below are 10 tips from womansday.com that will help you keep your hair looking great this fall:

  • Wash your hair every other day
  • Get a trim every 6-8 weeks
  • Keep hair hydrated
  • Deep-condition hair twice a month
  • Tell your stylist about any previous chemical treatments
  • Avoid pulling or tugging at tangled wet hair
  • Hot water is the enemy
  • Use a clarifying shampoo once a month
  • Create your own clarifying rinse
  • Buffing your hair with a towel when wet causes it to tangle

Click HERE to see the above tips and forty more.  Then please come back and share your autumn hair care tips with us.  Do you do anything special to prepare your hair for the fall months,  such as change the color,  or get a new style?

A richer color or a glaze to add shine are always good going into fall.

That's true.....but if your hair is highlighted, it's not always that easy to do that.

One thing I do not do is do a deep conditioning, although I'm sure it would be a good thing to start.  My hair is short, so it gets trimmed pretty regularly.

Since I haven't been working I have been only washing my hair every other day.  It is definitely in better shape now than it has been in a long time.

I should add that I live in AZ so we don't really have a normal fall... You just kinda do the same thing year round!

I colour my hair, since I don't like the gray.  I use a hair specifically for colour treated hair, and it is for redheads, since my hair is a violet red.  It fades very quickly in the summer, especially when I am in the pool and sun a lot.

My hair is trimmed and coloured every 6 weeks.  I can't go much longer than that.  I have stopped washing it every day, and I do dry it on a low setting.

For some people yes,  but probably not for everyone.

I like to do a hair mask once a week,  but it is too costly to keep up so I only do it when the product comes free with the other items I use.

I know shampooing every day can be drying - unfortunatley my hair wont hold a style unless I do.

Yeah, where you live would have some impact on things I am sure.  Also if you have hard or soft water can also make a difference to your hair during any season. I am not sure which type is suppose to be better.  Anyone know?

I have some stubborn gray in the front where I have to leave my color on longer!

When I decided to let my hair grow out about 4 years ago, it was about 60% gray.  I'm sure by now it's 100%!

I actually remember when you did that!  I also remember when you wrote you couldn't take it anymore.  There is this one lady at my church who has silver hair,  and she's not old but on her it looks very beautiful.

A friend of mine is completely silver..and it looks gorgeous.  For me, I just can't go there.

I am not brave enough to even try - I don't think I'd be totally gray yer - but definitley have some salt in the front!

I've never heard of a glaze or hair mask. I've heard of highlights and lowlights.
What are they?
I usually have an all over auburn with a carmel high light. The last few years I really like the red color. My hair is dark brown. By now, even though I haven't seen my natural color in awhile, I think I may have some white. :)
