Do you have metered water or do you pay a flat fee?
Neither. For most of our irrigation, we pump out of the lake, so whatever the power bill is going to be is what it costs. Since we also water the corn field behind us, around 200 acres, its $12,000 to $15,000 irrigate from April to September. I use hand line to irrigate the lawn and my garden.
We are on our own well for the house water. The pump really isn't big enough to run a sprinkler and do anything else in the house except flush a toilet. So I try not to use the house pump for watering. Again, it costs whatever the electricity costs to run. Molly
