Perhaps a discussion on the various spreadsheets would be of value particularly if included is hot links to same along with means of downloading data.

Good idea. I don't think there is one clearing house for the large number of spreadsheets that were developed over the past five years. I have a number on my bivio site and I know Jim has quite a few available on his home site.

Here are a few at this site.

Under Annual Reports you will find the Schneider/Hess annual report SS. I would look at the date to pull down the most recent material.

Several are found under Asset Allocation.

Under Miscellaneous you will find the EarningsSS.xls. This is Jim Thomas' earnings projection SS. It is one I use on a regular basis and I have it tied into my "Watch List" SS.

There are a few portfolio management SS's on the above bivio site.

I think it would be great to have a discussion on the available spreadsheets. I utilized some in the past and have found them to be extremely helpful.

I have looked at a couple of the offerings &, if they are representative of the population out there, the majority of investors will not be able to use them.

The beauty of TK, TS, etc. is that coupled with OPS & the process is fairly simple for the 80%. But even at that there many that struggle.

If BI bites the dust - The replacement software needs to be less complex than the spreadsheets that I have seen.

When Ellis had control of TK I was able to get very reliable data for about $100/year
and was satisfied with the end results.

What we need now a system as easily usable with the following attributes;
Date input on elements currently available on Reuters
Visual analysis (TK pg 1 type) of say up to 6 historical trend lines selectable by the user.
TKPage 2 modified accordingly.

Am I wrong?

http://biwiki.editme.com/Tools lists two desktop software products for doing SSGs that don't come from NAIC/BI/ICLUBcentral. Both are designed for the Mac, but both come in Windows versions too. I don't think they're as refined as, say, Toolkit, but they're improving over time.
