"What is a sysop?"
Sysops manage the community. They keep the message boards in good condition, offer their help where they can, and make sure no members or messages violate the few rules of the community. They love to join in the discussions! They also keep the chat rooms safe from troublemakers.

Hansje K.
Hansje is Dutch, lives in the Netherlands, North of Amsterdam. She is married to to an expatriate American painter. She is retired now but has always been self-employed. She used to import Italian design furniture. She has 2 cats, both spoiled rotten. Her hobbies are gardening, cooking, classical music and reading.
James F.
James is retired from the Air Force JAG Corps and as a commercial pilot. He is a lawyer but soon plans to retire from that too. He holds a DBA in accounting, a JD, MBA, and an MA. He teaches accounting, business law, ethics, and health care administration.
James' interests include Boy Scouting, aquatics, amateur radio, his two dogs, reading, weight lifting, ballroom dancing, coin collecting and CompuServe forums. He sings in a church choir, and is the coordinator for scouting (Boy Scouting, Girl Scouting, Campfire Boys and GIrls, etc) in the Catholic diocese where he lives.
While he was in law school at Ole Miss in the 70s, James legally grew marijuana for the federal government for the National Institute of Mental Health.
He has four grown children. One has Tourettes Syndrome. He can talk all day about raising a handicapped child in a public school system.
James received the Silver Beaver Award from BSA, which is the highest award given by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America, for contributions to youth at the local level.
Gail K.
Gail lives in southern New Jersey with her husband Bob and cat Zack. Her
daughter Amanda is a new attorney living in central New Jersey and her
89-year-old mother lives nearby in Philadelphia. Gail is a retired court
reporter now doing proofreading for other court reporters. She collects
British royal memorabilia and likes to read and travel.
Nancy C. [Wizop or lead sysop]
Nancy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia where her father was an oil accountant. She graduated from high school at Marymount International School in Rome, Italy.
Nancy received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson in Madison, New Jersey, and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Nancy has two sons and one grandson. Nancy and her husband have lived in Texas, Peru, St. Croix, New Jersey, and Louisiana. They have visited numerous other countries.
Nancy is retired, but she continues working as a volunteer. Her interests include investing, traveling, photography, scrapbooking, online communities, movies and physical fitness.
