I don't like scary movies, so I didn't vote.

I dig horror movies though lament the thrash that seems to be made these days. So hard to find Directors making excellent Horror pictures; everyone wants to make schlock.

Texas Chain Saw was scary, but one of my all-time greatest was the first Haunted House. How come Jaws wasn't on the list? Or Exocist?

LOVE Always!

That's why there is the 'other' option :), I couldn't possibily list all the choices.

Sorry about that, Teri.

I don't know if at all to class movies such as Interview With the Vampire and Bram Stoker's Dracula as Horror, because though they carry the feel of horror tales, their movie is much of drama than to scar. Dracula was more of romance than it was to scare.

Did anyone see a movie entitled "The Thing"?  Think it was back in the late 50's.  The Thing turned out to be James Arness (Matt Dillon).  Sure scared my friends and me.

I'd still call them horror movies. Vampires and such are pretty scary!

Ohhh I remember that movie! When I was a kid I had this old tv in my room, and every sat night there were horror movies. I loved to stay up late and watch them. Do you remember Creature from the Black Lagoon?  LOL

'When a Stranger Calls' Lots of suspense, not a lot of gore.

There's a remake of that one isn't there? That's the one where the young girl is babysitting, gets phone calls, and then the police determine the calls are coming from inside the house?

I haven't seen the original of that movie 'The Thing' but I did see the remake done by John Carpenter that starred Kurt Russell. Another favourite: Alien (In space, no one can hear you scream), and Tremors.

Yep. That would be the one. The movie came out a couple years ago.

I can't stand movies with much gore. I don't find it scary at all.....just sickening.

As a general rule, me either. But I did find myself loving the "Saw" movies. The gore is a bit too much and I wish they would have cut down on that, but the story twists and turns are great, and I like that you actually have to pay attention to the movie to figure out what's going on.

It is, but it's more or less a comedy, starring Eddie Murphy.

Alright how about this: would you class the movie The Sixth Sense as horror or thriller?

Yeah, I've seen the first three of those movies. The gore was a bit much, which is why I could care less about seeing the rest of 'em. BTW, one of the main characters in the films (Shawnee Smith) was in a good suspenseful movie a while back, as a teenager in "I Saw What You Did".

Hmm, it doesn't really seem like a horror movie. Maybe more of a thriller?
