I  love home grown tomatoes. I have about 10 tomato plants outside. There are going to be some whoppers if the birds will quit pecking at them! I put a ceramic cat in the garden that looks real and it seems to be working! LOL!

What a good idea!  I know that my dad puts rubber snakes on his plum tree and the grapes vines, and has pretty good luck keeping the birds away.

<Folks we now have the second half of the contest to go. The largest!..........>

And......................from the same plant too, which means Jack Sparrow can now that the "other" is gone, both, Teri's and Jack's mate tomato(bird pecked removed!!)Yes! It may happen up here where we have a more difficult growing season....and the weather has heated up....................Jack is busy working on his tomato now, with just that one it can grow to super size................which is grand considering two other plants I didn't pick have huge tomato clusters on'em, 5, 6 mega sized compared with him...........................so it goes.ever onwards!!!

(Bean Leaf Beetles back, but sprayed again...................so it goes).

This one will be a little easier because there isn't a rush time limit to post it other than August 31st. The last picture submitted on that date can win if it's the biggest. Good luck to Jack Sparrow!

And now, he'll need it, as I just noticed today, two more......................that'll slow him a bit.

Over here the tomatoes are just "starting" to ripen, one of my large Italian import tomatoes has started with pink streaks.the irreversable ripening process has begun.................no more growing there, but it's huge in size, like about 12 inches, the largest selected for seed from the cluster!

My composter tomato plant is humungous, almost makes you afraid to try load the composter now! But it's tomato won't be giant sized, perhaps it's location gave it too much nitrogen(even too much natural nitrogen can gimp the plants, giant plant, small fruit.so it goes, but still can be tasty!

Yes and here am I, with four, count'em,four plants with 12 inch tomatoes, and growing yet more, and one is Jack Sparrow with his large 12 inch one now(and two baby ones.........., other Celebrity has on 12 inch and smaller ones clustered coming, then there's the Italian seed imports, both plants have clusters of 5 all 12 inches..........................however, only one is starting to ripen. So it is, up here, and....................if Jack's doesn't ripen,he may win something yet............I won my F1 pool this week, why not tomato size? Why? I'll tell you, the end of August is approaching and tomatoes have a habit of ripening slowly up here...............so it goes.
