TELL US: ARE REALITY TV COUPLES CURSED?

What do Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, Jon and Kate Gosselin, Hulk Hogan and Linda Hogan, David Foster and Linda Thompson, and Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro have in common? 

All of these couples starred in reality shows profiling their marriages -- and all of these couples, among others, have now either separated or divorced!

Nick Lachey once acknowledged in a USA Today interview that the series, 'Newlyweds,' played a role in his separation from Jessica Simpson. 

Hulk Hogan also remarked to PEOPLE that while his marriage to Linda had been experiencing problems for a decade, the family's reality show, "Hogan Knows Best," just amplified the problems." 

In recent weeks, speculation had grown about marital strife afflicting yet another reality TV couple, Jon and Kate Gosselin of 'Jon and Kate Plus 8.'  The couple's trials and tribulations have been playing out for an ever-increasing, curious viewership and as the cover story on virtually every major gossip publication, turning them into a household name for undesirable reasons.  The couple has now revealed that they have filed for divorce, with Kate reportedly claiming in divorce papers that her marriage is "irretrievably broken."

Stars of a reality show subject their lives to virtual 24-hour scrutiny amidst constant camera coverage and the watchful eyes of millions of TV viewers, a prospect that is bound to place some strain on even the most blissfully-happy couples.
