Full story here.

I wonder if this will be considered a hate crime. It seems to qualify.

<<I wonder if this will be considered a hate crime. It seems to qualify.>>

I don't think so.

The man's hatred is directed against the "infidel" west which exports it's pornography and promiscuity all over the world through our TV shows and movies and magazines.

According to the teachings of Islam, the man’s daughter dishonored his family and Islam by her “westernized” behavior and that placed him in a position of having the duty to avenge the sullied honor of Islam, his family, and himself.

The hatred was not directed against his daughter as much as it was against the west (led by the Great Satan, the USA).

We are horrified by such actions here in the USA because we have replaced the idea of freedom with license and, except for the military and a few scattered other enclaves, no longer have any idea what the word “honor” means. So we cannot imagine why anyone could possibly do such a thing to their own daughter even if they are immersed in a religion that perpetuates 7th century, Arabian culture in which women are chattels to be used as their men see fit. We, as typical Americans, cannot see beyond our own front yards and expect the rest of the world to be like us. (As in “Why kum these people in Parree can’t talk Amerkin?”)

So we ask if this is not a so-called “hate crime” (aka: thought–crime) because we are unable (too lazy) to attempt to understand their point of view. To do so would require us to recognize the cesspool that promiscuity and pornography and drugs and the attitude that “it’s all about me” have made from what was once a great nation. Our culture is rotten to the core.

But not to worry! At the rate they’re going, Islam will be the dominant religion in the USA within 50 years which means that you and I will both be persecuted for our “lifestyles” but “honor killings” won’t make the news because they will be as common as the weather report. It is part of the decline and fall of America. Whenever a country becomes a great civilization they become decadent and weak which encourages the barbarians to come in and kick their butts.

For the Romans it was Germanic tribes. For the West it will be Islam. But they won’t have to fight; they’ll just have to demand and we (in Neville Chamberlain, panty-waste fassion) will willingly give them whatever they want in order to appease them so they will be nice to us.

How was your trip?

He sounds like more of a control freek, he couldn't control her, so he tried to kill her, more anger than hate, Muslems hate America even when they live here, you hear a lot of this going on. I have a friend that was dating a Muslem, his father found out about it and ordered him to return to Iraqi and marry the girl that was picked for him over there, but he loved Annie, my friend and was attending our church with her, this made his father even more angry so he cut him off from any money of the 3 service stations he owned here making it impossible for his son to make a living, my friend not wonting inlaws that hated her broke up with him for the sake of peace and regretting that he chose her later down the road and he would have being he had lost his familey and friends already because of her, so he did return to Iraqi and married the girl that was chosen for him, he has his familey and friends back, but the real reason she broke it off was because she was getting death threats and she had twe little girls by her deceased husband and her fear was for them. He loved his son, but he hated Annie.

PEORIA, Ariz. - Police in a Phoenix suburb are looking for a man suspected of running down his daughter because she was becoming too "Westernized" and was not living according to their traditional Iraqi values.

Now! this is a hate crime! Jews and Christians are the most hated people all over the world than any other Religion..

"The man's hatred is directed against the "infidel" west which exports it's pornography and promiscuity all over the world through our TV shows and movies and magazines."

But it's still a crime against a person against her religion, because his daughter's beliefs are more liberal than his. Or perhaps sexual orientation (when I read between the lines), but it seems they didn't want to come out and say it, perhaps because it cannot be confirmed.

But nevertheless, I agree there will most likely be no hate crime charge and it probably wouldn't hold up even if there were such a charge.

If he hates the west so much, why is he here in the west?

"We, as typical Americans, cannot see beyond our own front yards and expect the rest of the world to be like us."

I have noticed that too. But you're expected to know and go by the laws of the country you're in. When I visit another country for the first time, I get a book and read up on the important stuff. Unlike Ronny Reagan who goes to China and tries to tip a kid during the time when such was considered a serious crime in China. Tipping was then considered bribery. BTW, did you see that on TV when it happened? I did, and had a hard time believing our president at the time wouldn't  know better or at least be informed on proper behavior in the country he's visiting.

BTW, now tipping is legal in mainland China, but you won't find any Chinese  doing such, except in the better hotels that have a lot of Americans.

"But not to worry! At the rate they’re going, Islam will be the dominant religion in the USA within 50 years."

Well, I will be 110 years old then and seriously doubt if I will still be here.
As I have mentioned before, anything that can happen will happen if enough time is given. But by then, perhaps Islam will change a lot, just as has Christianity. For an example, Christians don't do the witch hunts any more that were once quite popular in Europe for a while, and to a much lesser degree, in Salem.

"How was your trip?"

Just fine, but rather uneventful. Just a lot of hiking.

BTW, is that your Harley in your avatar? I own several motorcycles myself, but no Harleys.

<<If he hates the west so much, why is he here in the west?>>

Probably because it's easier to make money in the USA than anywhere else in the world. (For the moment)

<<Unlike Ronny Reagan who goes to China and tries to tip a kid during the time when such was considered a serious crime in China. >>

RIght! Only politicians are allowed to be bribed.

It is amazing presidents and their advisors seem to be totally clueless about the cultures they want to influence. We have been sending female secertaries of state to Arab nations since Clinton appointed Mady Allbright. The Arabs just assumed we were too stupid to understand that we were insulting them.

<< I will be 110 years old then and seriously doubt if I will still be here. >>

You may be surprised.

<<is that your Harley in your avatar? I own several motorcycles myself, but no Harleys.>>

Its a Harley Road King. I road it to Wash DC and back to San Jose in '04 for the "Run for the Wall"  We averaged 450 miles a day; stopped every 100 miles for gas and fluids. 5 and a half days each way.

I had a custom seat made in Florida and was the only one who didn't have to stand up while riding to let some blood back in my behind. Great seat mady by Hartco in Stillwater, Florida. (Clearwater?)

I have my doubts if that's true these days. Besides, I don't think most Muslims worship money as much as us Americans.

I own four motorcycles. I have two at this home in SSF, a 1983  Yamaha Venture and a 1971 BMW R75/5. I purchased the BMW new in 1971 when I got out of the army. It's still in excellent condition and runs better than when new (several performance modifications).

At our home near Reno, I have a 1984 Yamaha Venture and a 2002 Suzuki DR200SE. The DR200SE is a lot of fun on all the dirt roads near our NV home.

You live in San Jose, CA?  If so, I didn't realize we were almost  neighbors.

As horrible as this sort of thing is, in Islamic societies it is very common, and in fact often considered a moral duty of the 'offnded' family, who will be critixized if they do NOT kill such a woman. The killing is not done because of any feeling of hate toward the offender, at least in theri theory, but because of a society that is based on an 'honor-envy' cycle, one of status by means of correct position and intolerance of any opposed expression to the ethos of the whole. The thought behind this sort of thing is a sort of purity of the tribe honor code that demands nobody ever suggest alternatives can be valid.

I find a real interesting connection in SOME ways between this sort of Islamic 'tribalistic' thinking and the politiclaly correct intolerance of any who oppose their liberal views. Both sorts make even teh presence of opposition with any evident effect an affront to their owbn status and position and somethign one must not tolerate in the name of living freely in accord with their own lights. And both see nothign wrong with such enforced silencing of the 'other', in fact, consider it morally necessary to their status-position maintenance. Thus both are totally blind to the moral consideration of others that finds such things to be immoral, as the 'other' is given no possible miorally valid status at all, but is considered offending filth that must be cleaned up so life can rightly and freely go on without offense to theri own secure status.

This means the other can exist only under conditions of being dominated and positioned in submission to the tribe's ethos. So othres are 'tolerated' only so long as all theri behaviors are marked by evident submission to and deference to the will of the power status class, the 'other' in effect become only what the in group allows them to be, so defined byt he power holder, confined and controlled by them, and so not a true 'othher' that effectivly in any sense counters the tribe's status security system. This is why such killing is seen as an act of religious MERCY and duty in Islam, it maintians cohesion and integrity of the whole community, and it is why it is seen as moral by many politiclaly correct leftists to silence and disallow Christian or conservative voices in any venue 'status nmaed' by the liberal tribe to be what defines them, such as universtiy lecture rooms.

It also I think explains why so many young leftists are so attrqacted to Islamic radical causes, causes that run directly counter to their own stated desires. Thier worldviews and ethics are different, but their psychological - political life form is identical.

This is an American extremist Muslim who believes freedom in America should respect his freedom of religion to murder his daughter. This is a serious problem in our nation and needs to be stopped. Not all Muslims in America condone this under Islam, but there are those that think they can inbred their primitive values into our American society and get away with it under freedom of religion. There is no freedom in America that should protect this fanaticism. A hate crime? Yes, I would think it fits.

Generally, Muslims hate the Jewish MUCH more than Christians. One major reason they hate the USA (which they think of as a Christian nation)   is for supporting Israel (Jewish!).

I don't believe the Muslims believe we are a Christian Nation after Obama told the whole world that America was not a Christian Nation but a Nation of all religions when he was in Iraqi or Iran, somewhere in Asia on one of his many visits there, he was a no show for National Prayer Day but took the time to wish the Muslims a happy Ramadan and for God to bless them, their god is Allah, the supreme being of the Muslims, our God is the one in the Holy Bible not the Koran in the revelations made to Mahammad by their Allah/god, I do believe if the Muslims had attacked Israel the way they did America on 911, Israel would have dropped  the A,B on them without batting an eye.

President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning.

President Obama extends his best wishes to Muslims around the world during Ramadan

If you dont believe the Muslim world hates America take a look at the link below, I have the whole DVD and it is scary..

It's not that they don't hate us, this is about who they hate more.

It's true that the USA is a country of countless religions. But if you say on a work Visa for a country such as Saudi Arabia that you're atheist or agnostic (like me) it's an automatic denial.  All Jewish as Sheik will also be denied entry.
But if you say you're a Christian, you will be welcome.

I know this because Tom used to have a job with Bechtel Power
in San Francisco getting passports and Visas ready for workers going to Saudi.

Saudi is a country where the government likes us, but most of their people hate us. But they hate Jewish even more.

Good job! Did he have to lie to get it?

Yeah!! That is what our Christian Bible has to say about the Jews also, so that is a prophecy that Jesus made that did come to pass! Doncha think?

"You can safely assume you've created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do. "

But we are forbidden to hate anyone in our Bible or we can't go to heaven, Jesus said, if a man slaps you on the cheek to turn the other one, look at what mankind did to Him, but He died for them anyway, saying, Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. Does that sound like God hates His own creation? I do not hate Muslims, I do not hate anyone because they do not believe the way I do, I can honestly say I have no hate in my heart for anyone and God does NOT hate the Muslims! Maybe it is me, but you and Tom seem to be having a pretty good time with all the traveling and the hiking, you both own homes, one to live in and one to vacation in, many don't have even 1 home to call their own, I don't see earth as hell or even close, I don't let the world bother me because I know I am safe in my Heavenly Fathers care and in the care of the kindest husband a woman could ever ask for, if you and Tom love each other be happy for the time you have together here on earth, I am looking forward to the Christmas Holidays when you do see the good come from humans for mankind sake, children become emmune to proverty, they just love to play and love to be loved, give them a toy and a hot meal and warm cloths and they are happy, I love everyday that the Lord gives me, not that I feel good everyday, but it is another day I get to hug my husband, and hold my puppy close until he squeals, call my son and tell him I love him and can't wait until he comes home for the Holidays, do you and Tom do anything on the jolliest day of the year,  I remember as a child, I thought Christmas was all about Santa and toys and good food. until I found out that Santa/Department Stores, was where mt toys come from, i still love toys, but mostly just getting together with my family and friend as it should be.. <s>

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:14-15

"If you dont believe the Muslim world hates America"

It's not that they don't hate us, this is about who they hate more.

Who cares who they hate more. The fact is, they hate every society that don't think and believe as they do. If you're a Muslim and bow to Islam, then they probably will like you alot more.

"I WAS KIDDING DON, I hope you know that!?"

You might have been kidding, but it was the truth!

"but you and Tom seem to be having a pretty good time with all the traveling and the hiking, you both own homes, one to live in and one to vacation in, many don't have even 1 home to call their own,"

All of us should always try to make the best out of everything, even when in hell.

"Maybe it is me,"

Maybe not.  Happiness is not measured in what you own. It seems that poor people have a much lower suicide rate than rich people. Perhaps a fact. I do know the very lowest suicide rate of all people is from very poor black women.

"do you and Tom do anything on the jolliest day of the year,"

Tom and I find Xmas to be the most boring day of the year.

But the day after is much more important.  Tom & I met for the first time on 26, December 1974.

Sounds a little like some Christians .  .  .

If you cannot convert them, treat them like you hate them, but be sure to call it "love".
