With the demise of Outlook Express and Winmail, some people are wondering to which Email to turn to.

There a few that do at least as well as OE. Note, I use Office Outlook for mail, but I also used Win Mail for the news groups.

One thing to keep in mind is that typically Windows Email Clients start free and turn to paying programs soon after.

Microsoft has said to go elsewhere for the email client. However, if you would prefer an alternative to WinMail and Outlook, MS offers Windows Live Mail. I understand that the latest is compatible with Windows 7. There is also MS Office Outlook, but this is not free.

There is also the 3rd party email clients such as Zoho (WEB) which has been highly recommended, mainly for its simplicity. But you may not find the features you are used to.

Which Email Client with support for the Newsgroup would you recommend? Can you list 2 of them?

What do you actually use, Desktop or WEB Email programs?

Hi Carmen,

I will most likely continue to use Microsoft Outlook when I install Windows 7.  But I will also use MS LiveMail in Windows 7.

I use Yahoo once in awhile, but to use it for e-mail I would not want to.  I also use Windows Live Messenger and can use it for e-mail.  I do get  a lot of e-mail through it.  With LiveMail installed all of these are listed in it.  It also picks up all mail to these accounts.

I guess what a person chooses to use is up to them.  I am a Comcast member (cable account) and have a Comcast.net e-mail account also, but don't use it.

Yes, as long as it is compatible with W7.

Hi Carmen,

Yes as long as it is Free.

Next month which is just a few more days away, I will be buying a barebones kit, a Video card and a flat screen monitor..  But which one to buy?  I will most likely buy one that used the i5 processor. And it has to have a 750GB hard drive and 4GB's of ram or more.  I would like a motherboard that has many expansions slots PCIe x16 and lower.  But I guess when it comes to buying these barebones kits you get what they offer.  And the cases are generally mid-tower and I would prefer a Full tower case.  Power supply 750watts is ok.
