You know, that's going too far with your anti-gun garbage -- even for you. For you to try to turn a tragedy in which American heroes are murdered and maimed by someone who was a trusted physician into a joke at those you despise is disgusting.

I think its sick how the anti-gun crowd try to use this tragedy to turn the tables.
You should be ashamed.

This is another nail in the coffin for the anti-gun crowd. If those killed were allowed to C & C, this tragedy might not have happened.

Talk about extremism.   Are you cheering 13 deaths and 30 wounded?

This occured on a US military base.    Not exactly the heart of your anti-gun crowd.   They were not only allowed to carry concealed weapons but openly carried weapons,  legally.

Your argument here makes zero sense.

Agree with you here.  Funny, the actual data indicate you can have strict gun laws, liberal gun laws, concealed carry, open carry, and even hari-kari and the murder rates for firearms are totally independent of any of these.  I'm not sure why conservatives always take this data as supporting gun control. It just as equally supports no gun control.

If you ask me a case like this isn't really related to the gun control issue or any other political agenda.  It's just a stupid, senseless tragedy.

Right, Joe. Too bad the shooter had the only gun in the US Army's Fort Hood.

Michael --

If the discussion is going to devolve (again <sigh>) to the character of people who are pro-gun or anti-gun, Marginal Issues is the place for that.

Good point.

It looks like the people with the most experience, honor, integrity and skill, who have the greatest access to guns also agree that gun control is a very good idea.

This is one thing we can agree on in the US you don't need to carry a weapon on base, if your not an MP.

I have never heard of anyone allowed to carry a weapon on a military base ever, like they do outside the gate in most states

Really? I guess you've never heard of the trap and skeet ranges on military bases, or the hunting areas on them, where officer and enlisted personnel shoot and hunt with their privately-owned firearms.
