Bookmarks made of leather, cloth and paper are common enough but how about using a rasher of bacon?

That was what one library-goer used as they made their way through Len Deighton's World War II book Blood, Tears And Folly.

The slice was uncovered when the book was returned to a library in Worthing, West Sussex.

just wondered whether he preferred back bacon or streaky!!

Don't know about the choice of cured meats used  I just don't want to get the volume with the eggs & beans in it <G>
