So that we can dispense with the drama of who will be the first to bring up Hitler in this thread, I'll jump right to it.

Here's the set up. Hitler is alive and well and doing a TV talk show. It's probably on FOX because everyone knows those guys have a close association with all things Nazi - like Sean Hannity. So Hitler is drawing big ratings and his producer calls <insert your name here> and asks you to make an appearance on his show representing...

JD: How Hitler and the Christian Right can work together to improve delivery of social services to people in SoCal who have lost their homes to fires/floods/wind/earthquakes/etc/etc/etc
Brooke: How you and Hitler can bring back auto manufacturing jobs to Michigan and provide better social services to those that have lost their jobs
Blake: How you and Hitler can improve delivery of alternative medicine and break the AMA monopoly
Burt: How you and Hitler can steal more gum drops from innocent small grocery stores and buy hookers in back alleys
Sharky: How local transportation will be effected by Hitler's upcoming rally at Lambeau Field.

Let's assume you are public figures and used to making appearances on TV talk shows in support of the given subject matter, so stage fright or a desire to remain out of the public eye are not allowable reasons to turn down the offer. Do you appear as Hitler's guest? Why?

I would go and welcome the chance to explain why it's perfectly alright to eat a few gumdrops from a large food chain but NOT from a small grocery store (unless it was owned by jews).

OK, here's why I asked. You might not like this guy because he's an atheist and not shy about it, and you're an intolerant, Bible-Thumping, shove-Jesus-down-your-throat...ummm...hypocrit....yeah, that's it, yer a hypocrit. OOoohhhhhhhh! But there are a lot of less-gov't issues where Penn Jillett and I often agree. I really liked the piece he did on the 2nd amendment. Here's a piece he does that is very candid and painfully (to him) honest about the first amendment and one of his childhood idols. His idol happens to have an unfortunately too common liberal position that says the first amendment is meant to protect my right to silence you.

I respect Penn for going on Beck's show and speaking what he believes to be the truth. Granted, Beck has home field advantage, but I think that Penn can match wits with anybody and not be made to look a fool. How can the libs bitch about the conservatives dominating certain sectors of the media when they are afraid to go on and present an opposing position. Besides I've heard stories about Tommy Smothers and he sounds like a real @-hole.

But he's a talented comedian and musician and has a very likable stage persona. Therefore everything he does is good and right. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?

Well I'm not sure what I would do. I wouldn't go on Bill O'Reilly if I had an opinion I knew he wouldn't like. I probably agree with Bill O more often than not, but he's an a-hole when it comes to interviewing those he disagrees with and the audience rarely gets to hear the opposing view. OTOH, the very few times I've seen Beck interview people, if he disagreed he would lean back and say something along the lines of , "that makes absolutely no sense to me, explain what you mean." If Hitler allowed the opposing side present it's position on why concentration camps are wrong and that the Sudetenland doesn't really belong to Germany, I would go on. I would also take the opportunity to bash Chamberlain.

Maybe both. The guy is a little hard to look at...OK, a lot hard to look at. He's got a face for anonymous internet posting, not video blogs.

BS. I saw him recently interview a PETA freak, whom he disagreed with, and he let her ramble on. I think the guy's as fair is it gets. Anyone on the Left qualify?

Speaking of bs double-standards, how about Larry David pissing on a picture of Jesus "all in good fun". Can you freaking IMAGINE him doing that to a picture of Mohammed...or O'Bama? I hate Hollywood.

Speaking of incredible poker comebacks: 3500 starting chips at Pauma last night, and after a decent lead, I donk down to 3100 at the break (avg stack probably 15k at this point). I tell my friend: "I'll either win this thing or be gone in 5min." I then sit at the table and tell everyone: "You're about to see the greatest comeback in Pauma Wed night tourny history." THREE hands later I had 26k, and wound up chopping at the final table. (Didn't want to, since I felt *destined* after that comeback, but I was the lone holdout, I knew most of the others, and people were practically begging).
