Rocky and Dave have identified the link between BABY THE RAIN MUST FALL, LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION, IT HAPPENS EVERY SPRING, and THE WAY AHEAD, which is another way of saying they identified the Theme. But we also had an incorrect guess. The theme isn't Baseball.
Now on to the titular Slam Dunks.
Yes, I said DunkS. There isn't one great T S-D that fit all the needs of a T S-D. There is a movie that is absolutely titular, but according to IMDB, there is one which is perfect, but it finished filming in April and is in post-production. IMDB says it's a 2009 release, but if that's the case, it's a really late 2009 release. I suspect it won't come out until 2010.
Ihere was another movie which would have been good, but for the fact that it's a theatrical short, and I won't use those, because, unless we're talking about a Stooges short most of us don't know the name of theatrical shorts.
Now the Theme is three words long, and I did have a good T S-D for each of those three words, I just couldn't decide which of the three would work best at conveying the Theme. So I decided why not use all three?
No reason. So this week, I offer up three Slam Dunk movies; one for each of the three words that make up the Theme.
Now here are today's clues...
FIRST WORD
1996 Disaster in a New York tunnel as explosions collapse both ends of it. One hero tries to help the people inside find their way to safety.
SECOND WORD
1998 Following the Normandy Landings, a group of US soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action.
THIRD WORD
1979 H.G. Wells and Jack the Ripper, do I really have to tell you any more?
Have a good weekend.
