Good morning everyone. I have some good news. For those who didn't know......I have been out of work since January. That changes as of Monday November 9th. I have been interviewing and praying about this job since March. The position that I have been applying for is difficult to get. Since they anounced the hiring they have only hired about five or so for these positions.

I know that I am nothing special but God has saw fit to allow me to be get one of thes positions. I am so excited. For anyone who has been praying for me and my family....Thank you. For you are just as much of this as I am.

The position is with St. Jude Medical here in SC. It is only about five miles from where I live. (God is good.) I can get to work in less than ten minutes. Where I had to leave an hour early at my other job.

What will I be doing? I am glad you asked. I will be making Pace Makers.

Continue to pray. I will keep you all updated.

Tony

I think both the ups and downs of life are part of the mortal experience that is God's plan to develop godliness in his children. I know people who look back on their deepest trials and think they would not want to do that again, but something inside them is glad they had the experience and glad for what it added to their life and understanding.

I can appreciate that view, But I don't see where a God is needed to appreciate what is PERCEIVED as a good or bad experiances. A god gets in the way of making my life go.

Everyone who wants to keep living is tested. But the test is within ones own self.
To say, "God is responsible for everything" is to say we as humans actually have little or no say in the matter and we can fail or succeed ONLY if we DO or DO NOT acknowledge a god into the equation.
I feel no reason to thank GOD for my successes... Or hold a deity responsible for my failures.

I'm not sure that God would want to get in the way of making your life go. If you stay open to God, you may yet find him more of a partner in life than an obstacle. At least, that has been my experience so far.

I never say that God is responsible for EVERYTHING. God allows certain things to help us grow. We do have free will, also; so we are responsible for much of what happens.

Why would I expect you to give thanks to someone you don't believe in?

Sorry, but I have my "partners in life". I just treat others as I would like to be treated.
That is NOT a Biblical rule. It is MY rule! A covenent with my own inner self.
Even if the realm of Heaven were true, I don't think I would like the idea of spending the rest of eternity doing nothing else but worshiping a deity.

I'm not buying into the "God only does the good things" , while Satan is responsible for the bad.
Bad things happen to Christians, no matter how much they pray, worship, or give to the cause.
They are subject to the same equal treatment as is any other religion. I see no differences!
If something bad happens, they attribute it to Satan OR just being tested by God.
If something good happens, they give all the praise to God.
Anything, to make a superstition, FIT the circumstances.
If a black cat crosses my path and something awful happens, I don't blame a cat. Nor do I attribute a good event to finding a four-leafed clover.
I believe that Cause and Effect works in most cases, but can be overruled by pure chance and happenstance. Nothing to do with any gods watching and testing.

<Why would I expect you to give thanks to someone you don't believe in?>

You shouldn't! I take FULL ownership of my life and direction.

<I know that I am nothing special but God has saw fit to allow me to be get one of thes positions. I am so excited.>

>>As "God" saw fit to put you OUT of work and worry you to death in the first place?<<

First...God did not put me out of work to worry me to death. (I am still alive! <g>) If and when I did worry any.....it was not God's fault, but mine. He took care of me and my family the whole time. He supplied for us the whole 10 months I was out of work. By doing this he gave others a chance to help my family out. And because of that....we are much closer to some of these people. Not only was God working in my life.....but theirs also.

I know now exactly why I was layed from my other job.

1) He wanted (me) to trust him more for my needs.

2) He wanted to show (me) that he will take care of (me) even in uncertain times.

3) He wanted (me) to be more thankful for he has allowed (me) to have. (It can be all gone in a very short span.)

4) He wanted (me) closer to home.

5) He wanted (me) home at night.

6) He wanted (me) to have a job that I prayed for and that I really enjoy.

I could put down more....but that gives a pretty good picture.

I told a co-worker this week that I need to call up my old place of enployment and thank them. Yes....thank them for letting me go. For if they had not layed me off....I would not have this job now.

The whole ten months of unenployment was worth the wait. Where God closes one door....he will open another. I thank him for both.

Tony

C<I'm not buying into the "God only does the good things" , while Satan is responsible for the bad.

I didn't say God only does "good" things. There is a lot that he allows and does that doesn't seem good to us. But, there is a purpose for everything that happens.

If something bad happens, they attribute it to Satan OR just being tested by God.
If something good happens, they give all the praise to God.

Sometimes we even praise him through the bad times. Read the book of Job.

<Anything, to make a superstition, FIT the circumstances. If a black cat crosses my path and something awful happens, I don't blame a cat. Nor do I attribute a good event to finding a four-leafed clover.>

Uh..most Christians don't do that either.

OK, you're welcome to your beliefs.

I know that feeling. Sometimes a couple of hours on Sunday feels like eternity. But it is usually a nice time to share a refreshing experience with people I like, and to arrange activities that will help us or help others. I can imagine heaven being more of that. The universe (or universes) is a lot of space, a lot of worlds to organize. God has a lot of creative work to do. I think we will be helping him with that, if we want to.

Any view of the afterlife is cloudy, including a view of extinction. I expect there to be some surprises.

As for your inner covenant, I find the Bible full of people with that same integrity. It is part of the divine nature of God that can be within us, being made in his image and likeness.

What has been your personal experience with religion? Maybe it was not a good experience, but there is something still that brings you here.
