All:

There have been reports in the news in the last few days of Gitmo detainees receiving the H1N1 vaccine.  How do you feel about the prisoners getting the vaccine before all Americans who want the vaccine receive a dose? 

Also, there have been news reports that inmates in city jails will be on the priority list for the vaccine, how do you feel about that? 

Think for a moment, in crowded places diseases, like the flu, are airborne and spread like wildfire.  If the inmates have an epidemic, the guards are not immune from the disease, even with a flu shot there is no 100% guarantee one will not contract the flu.

Would you prefer the inmates wait until everyone of the estimated 159,000,000 unvaccinated Americans have gotten their flu shot, and risk an epidemic in the jails? 

Who would guard the prisoners, and who would feed, cook, do their laundry, clean up, and care for them?  You??   Because it certainly will Not be me!
