All:
A little over six hours ago,13:30, an Army Major, Malik Hasad, a Medical Doctor, and a psychiatrist, based at army base Fort Hood, in Killeen, central TX, USA, shot and killed 11 soldiers, wounded 32 with two listed in critical condition. The shooter was shot and killed by police personnel.
What happened to this man? His ancestry is Jordanian, he was born and raised in the USA, but received flax for being of Middle Eastern ancestry, according to a cousin's report. This cousin went on CNN TV saying his cousin was about to be deployed, and felt this was the very worst thing to happen to him...that Major Hasad, loved America.
Was this man a Wounded Warrior, or was he a Jihad Terrorist? Perhaps most of the general public are not aware medical personnel who care for physical, mental and/or emotional problems of patients also carry a heavy emotional burden....we call it: 'they', being patients, exact a Pound of Flesh from us with each encounter. When we deal with patients, regardless of the person's problems, each 'healer' takes on the emotional distress of the patient. After awhile, this stress builds up and begins to take an emotional toll on the healthcare giver.
Fort Hood, the largest army base in the USA, has a large mental facility to care for post trauma stress which can erupt in various states of violence. Did Dr. Hasad buckle under the emotional stress of being deployed to the war in the Middle East, or was this part of a terror plot? Was he emotionally distraught over treating returning soldiers who were emotionally damaged?
We are fighting not one, but two wars in the Middle East, do you think it's time to pull our troops our of harm's way? Or do you think we should stay the course until our soldiers are so fatigued and emotionally distraught more violence erupts within the ranks?
Contact your senators, and the White House, to let our politicians know how you feel. They work for you; you elected them to do a job...see that they follow your wishes.
