Ft. Hood Shooter Is Still Alive!
Contrary to all earlier reports, Dr. Nadal Malik Hasan, the U.S. Army Major who shot dead at least a dozen fellow soldiers and wounded more than 30 others, did _not_ die after being shot. Major Hasan is still alive. What do you think motivated him to commit these horrible crimes?
At least 12 soldiers are reported to have been killed and 31 wounded during an attack by multiple gunmen at Ft. Hood, Texas.
For many hours, it was reported that Major (Doctor) Hasan had been killed by authorities seeking to stop his attacks.
But military spokesmen reported this evening that Major (Doctor) Hasan was not killed during his capture and that he is still alive.
Major/Doctor Hasan, 39, is a psychiatrist who received his medical training at the armed forces institute, courtesy of the United States government. He is a United States citizen of Jordanian heritage.
Texas' Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison told reporters this afternoon that she had been informed that the shooter, a man whose family originated in the region, was angry about his impending posting to Iraq.
AP reported that the "dead" shooter had been a mental health professional in the Army.
Two other personnel were initially reported to have been taken into custody, but they have since been released.
However, a third person is said still to be at large.
Ft. Hood is an army base -- said to be the largest such facility in the world.
Today's attack took place at about 1:30 p.m. Central Standard Time (2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 9:30 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time).
More details as they become available....
Why do you think there was such a long delay in correcting the reports that Major (Doctor) Hasan had been killed by authorities?
