Suddenly in my old, and my recent, CS2000 v6, whenever I open a window to, and within, a CS forum, I get that IE Script Error window, stating a syntax error has happened, and do I want to continue running script or not, yes or no. Even when I followed the MSIE instruction on how to stop that scripting window to pop up, it still pops up. What else may I do to rid myself of it??

I have been getting the same thing recently as well. Nothing was changed on my system and as it only happens on the CS screen , the problem is likely on their end. The same sites opened directly in Internet Explorer do not get the script error. I simply answer "Yes" (or hit enter).

"the problem is likely on their end"

You mean, "CS"?? Shouldn't someone in this forum know??

This is a user-to-user forum. Nobody in the forum is a CS employee.

No "script error"there.

Sure, Larry, I already have it, BUT what about getting it out of my
CS 2000 v6???

And how wold the Mozilla affect my roblem if it only occurs when I try to communicate with, and while within, the CS forums??

"This is a user-to-user forum."

I do appreciate this, Jeff, but I would still like to know if, and how, I might "cure" my problem within CS, when I communicate with, and within, CS forums

Thanks,
Herb

You would use Firefox as your web browser after making an internet connection using your CompuServe program. Firefox does not suffer from the same script problems as Internet Explorer.

I understand, but, if possible, i'd like to correct it within my CS 2000, if possible.

Which of these steps were you unable to follow?

How to disable script and runtime errors

You can configure Internet Explorer to ignore these script and runtime errors. Please follow this step-by-step guide:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click on Tools, then on Internet Options.

3. Click on the Advanced tab.

4. Look for the "Disable script debugging" line and put a check mark in the box.

5. Now look for the "Display a notification about every script error" line and remove the check mark in the box.

You don't have any spyware on your computer. You are being notified of script errors. You simply have to turn off these notifications using the instructions above. Or use an alternative browser like Firefox.

I did what you said about the MSIE browser's turning off the scripting to NO avail. Isn't there anything further to do without having to change ISPs or browser???

Ian, that's my take exactly. You first go online through your Internet Provider (ISP). Then you access your FireFox browser, But you have to open an account with Mozilla first. Off hand, I forgot the procedure. Maybe others here are familiar with the procedure?
