In CS 7, can I edit an email I am forwarding. For instance, can I delete text and then forward. Or, can I forward, but not send the original attachment? In other programs, when I forward, the forwarded email appears and I can edit it and uncheck the attachment. Is this not possible in CS7? Thank you for any help you can give me.

You need to copy and paste the text you wish to forward into a new email message. You would need to save any attached files and re-attach them to the new message.

Or you could use a proper mail program

Ugh. That's what I thought. I use a "proper" mail program for everything else but this account, so I am familiar with what the CS program is lacking.

Then why not do so with your CompuServe account? I have given you a link to the settings required.

Iain

I went to your web page http://sites.google.com/site/iainnoblesite/Home/imap-faq and have a question.  The following is from your page:

"IMPORTANT UPDATE!

"If you prefer to use POP3 to access your Compuserve 2000 mailbox, this is possible. Some programs/devices do not support IMAP and some members have reported problems using IMAP.

"Use these settings:

    * Account Name: Your CS2000 Member Name (without the @cs.com part).
    * Password: Your CS2000 password.
    * Email Address: Your Member Name with @cs.com after it.
    * Incoming Mail Server Type: POP3.
    * Incoming Server Name: pop.aol.com
    * Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.aol.com.
    * Change Outgoing port from 25 to 587 to be able to send emails.
    * Put a checkmark in My Server requires Authentication for outgoing mail servers."

My question is where am I using these settings?  In something like Outlook Express, or am I using these settings in CompuServe 2000 itself?

In something like Outlook Express

Yes, note the list of email programs that makes up the rest of the page?

Exactly. CS knows how to connect to the mail server, so you don't have to specify it. Those settings let you use a variety of programs other than CompuServe's to get your CS mail.
