It would. A and a are not the same letter in binary. We used bar code
at Catalina Sports Wear. At the time I could read it. Sort of. Can't
anymore and what I read was EBCIDIC not ASCII.

That web site had all kinds of bar code languages on it, showing me exactly what all I needed to put through a shredder!  It was rather instructive.
