It seems that some people's profiles were victims of phishing attacks. http://www.wired.com/politics/security/news/2008/01/facebook_phish
I always look inside the mails I do not know. I've got one misleading email today, I've getting them for years and it is often pretending to be an email provider and telling me that my payment failed. Since I do not pay for that particular email, this was easy. Same thing with financial institutions. For most, these are not even my banks. I also contact my providers and check the WEB site listing, just in case. But I never just click on a link if I suspect phishing.
I know, it looks easier than it is when discussing the problem. And it is time consuming.
Also, I find that after doing a search of the web I get disguised SPAM.
