Seems like this forum may be a little sloow on the uptake , a major disaster took place at Fort Hood today , and not a word about Fort Hood .

I read yesterday that 75% of the young people could not qualify to enlist in the military , do to obesity , drop outs , police reports , ect .

I ask you brothers , whats going on ?

John,

Last I saw, eleven have been killed and thirty some wounded.   So far one shooter is identified as a U.S. Army Major...name is Nadel Malik Hasan..    The FBI has stated that there is no indication of terroism and that they do not know Hasan's motivation.   However; reports are coming out through news sources that Hasan had been posting emails and making statements in opposition to the U.S. having troops in Iraq and Afganistan and that he had stated that it would be good for Muslims to defeat their agressors.  Hasan had received orders for deployment to Afganistan or Iraq and was upset about that as he had hoped Obama would withdraw all U.S. forces from the middle east before he had to deploy.

Can't wait for the denials that this had anything to do with Islam.

Bill

Capt ,

It does seem there was one shooter , who would think it would be an Army major how was this man able to reach this rank and not be noticed as unbalanced .

It looks in a way as another Virginia Tech where one man killed thirty , whats going on ,

Islam spread their faith with fire and sword , these are not playfull people , and we the people need to get serious about it  ,   political correctness is not going to do it , we the people need to wake up ,

John,

Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the shooter, was originally reported to have been killed.   The story now is that he survived, is wounded and under custody.  Last report is 12 dead and 31 wounded.

Ironic.   You mentioned him being unbalanced.   Guess what.   He is a psychiatrist.

You mentioned Virginia Tech.   Guess where Hasan went to school.   Virginia Tech.

Hasan reportedly has always been Muslim, did not convert.    Reports also that he had made comments supporting the shooting of Army enlistees in Little Rock, Ark. last year.  Supposedly his statements in opposition to our military envolvement in the middle east and his statements in support of Muslims against the U.S.. were reported to Army authorities over the last year to six months.   It doesn't look as if anything was done about it.   P.C. slipping into the process I am sure.

Capt ,

I read some where that suicide rate among psychiatrists is very high , if that is true why didn't this guy just kill himself .

Don mentioned where were the M.P.'s , it has been my observation that M.P.s are basically useless , gate guards and palace guards are about all they are trained for , not a situation of this magnitude .

P.C. will destroy this Country , we need to get back to basics , a rose by any other  name is still a rose .

Bill: "Can't wait for the denials that this had anything to do with Islam."

The New York Times today bent over to avoid mentioned that the gunman was a Muslim who wanted the US out of Muslim lands. Instead of discussing what has been handed the NYT by on-the-scene investigators, the NYT chose to talk about other (non-Muslim related) mass killings in the U.S., no doubt in an effort to deflect attention away from the possibility that this was just another terrorist attack by Muslims. The NYT has now constructed the basic "narrative." Other boobs now will be following the NYT's lead in an effort to make that the "dominate narrative" regardless of what actual evidence comes out.

Based on my personal observations (limited to be sure) most MPs are overseas doing MP things in Iraq and Afghanistan and GITMO.  Most policing duties on CONUIS posts are now being done by rent-a-cops (now known as DOD Contract Police).  It may have been one of them who was killed in the shootout and who, we now know, wounded the good Major.  Any MPs who are on CONUS posts these days are probably organic to combat units and are probably training with their units as opposed to acting as "palace guards." True, most combat MPs are not trained to handle mass murder situations, but that is what the Army has the CID and the FBI for.  Every comment that I heard, and I was listening to the news as it developed rather than posting on the forum, indicated that the quick responders were exemplary in their handling of this horrible situation.  Let's not lose sight of the fact that this was an act committed by a fanatical individual, who should not have been in the place he was in, except for the rabid growth of 'political correctness'.

Jerry,?

Ref. "rent-a-cops" as opposed to MP's on bases in CONUS.

All referances I have heard are to "a policeman" or "the policeman" as to who ended Hasan's rampage.   Couldn't tell for certain, but it didn't sound like it was an MP.

Seems like many things, including security, have been farmed out or contracted to civilian sources on posts in CONUS.

Ref. Political Correctness

Hasan was reported to have been lecturning patients at Walter Reed, Hasan's previous posting, about converting to Islam.   He also was reported to be handing out copies of the Koran to his neighbors yesterday morning prior to doing the killing at Ft. Hood.  Yet, the media is puzzled as to his motivation.   Could it be PRE post-traumatic-syndrome ?

What motivation do we think the media would put on it if he was causasian, named James Thomas Smith, had been lecturing people on finding Jesus, and had been handing out Bibles to his neighbors before going on a shooting spree ?

Tim,

""Other boobs now will be following the NYT's lead in an effort to make that the "cominate narrative" regardless of what actual evidence comes out.""

Other boobs as in ABC, NBC, CNN, or left wing college professors ??

Some mistaken references have already appeared about Hasan having PTSD, although he's never seen a minute of combat (unless you regard shooting fourty plus unarmed individuals as such and that wasn't POST trauma.).

Has is apparently responsible for a new PTSD diagnosis.   Seems he probably had PRE traumatic stress disorder.  At least that is a spin being placed on his motivation by the boobs.

Americans who want to uphold the Constitution, limit taxation, have strong national defense and believe that the trees one decorates in December are Christmas and not "holiday" trees are regarded as potential threats by the current government, yet domestic Muslims who preach Muslim victory over the "agressors" who have invaded Muslim lands are not.

Jerry ,

In my 7yrs of active duty I never saw M.P.s doing much of anything .

Though I had one stop me at FT.Benning for not having a post sticker on my car , I tired to get it through his thick head that I had just got the car and was on the way to get a sticker , he gave me a citation any way .

But anyway here is a good example of political correctness . a total of 9 woman during the entire Vietnam conflict were killed , put them on the wall no way , they have their own monument in D.C.

PTSD .is becoming an excuse for all kinds of conduct , I know times are tough in Afghan and getting deployed there time after time would get on your nerves , but PTSD is stretching it a bit . during my tour in Vietnam 14,000 Americans were killed , now that can get on your nerves a bit .

The media will make up all sorts of nonsense to avoid concluding that the prick was just one more mindless jihadist. We will also soon be told that his interpretation of the teachings of Islam is not correct, as Islam is a "peaceful" religion despite having bloody borders everywhere, and, of course, we will no doubt be told how this poor guy has felt discriminated against since 9/11.

""we will no doubt be told how this poor guy has felt discriminated against since 9/11.""

Will be told ??     Have been hearing that from almost right off the bat.   Started last night with quotes for his cousin that he had been harassed because of his name and religion.

Then we just had a 14 yr old boy arrested for sodomizing and then murdering a little 4  yr. old boy who lived in his neighborhood.  Quote his aunt. "He is a good boy."     No doubt there will be great debate on whether to charge him as an adult.

Herb,

If Nidal Hasan recovers he may get an appointment as one of Obama's czars, or in a position with Homeland Security.   Obama has already appointed a few Muslims to higher up positions in that organiation.

"What ?  You mean that was the same guy that killed 13 people at Ft. Hood ?   Why, I never knew anything about that?"   Either that or; "By appointing Nidal Hasan to this position we hope to dispell the impression of American arrogance and bigotry and to signify a change in this country's direction."    I left out the "ahs" and "ums".   You may insert as many as you want wherever  you want.

Guess you didn't stay long enough.  MPs provide security, direct convoys, guard prisoners and enforce the laws.  And they were very helpful to me when I had a race riot in my Battalion back in the nasty 60s.  And they are the only troops authorized to carry weapons on CONUS bases.  Kinda like cops - pain in the A until you need them....

As we now know, it was not an MP but a female 'rent-a-cop' and her supervisor who brought this fanatic down.  Kudos to her.  Story is that her husband is on active duty in either Iraq or Afghanistan - patriotic family.  We need more like them.

As far as the fanatic shrink (I refuse to identify him as a Major), he should never have been in the position he was in.  A psychiatrist holds a very powerful and responsible position in regards to his/her patients.  The fact that this guy was known to have been using his position to proselitize his patients is a gross violation of ethics and grounds for being dismissed from the Army and having his license to practice revoked.  This is political correctness gone way too far.  (Wonder if we would have won WWII if we had not called the Nazi's "Krauts" and the Japanese "Japs"?)

Jerry ,

The race riot must have been in Korea , when I was there we had one every Saturday night , two M.Ps in a jeep showed up in a jeep , they got the s--t beat out them and their jeep turned over .

The Battalion Co declared no passes for anyone until further notice .

Pay back came two weeks later when the Battalion failed the I.G. CMI inspection , presto new Battalion Co. and things went back to status quo. , Grunts aren't as stupid as they look ,

Many Officer and Nco failed to understand that Privates could make or break a career
