Here are are links to the workshops we've held so far since the new format. I'll try to keep it updated so that you can always find them. Just click on the title of each presentation. That will take you to the beginning of the workshop.

Incidentally, many of these workshops are available in our file section as pdf files... just the initial presentation without the dialogue.

Would it be possible to put a permannet placeholder on the main menu to allow accessing the links of prior studys  some time in the future without having to search through to find it.

Dan,

I'm not sure what you mean, but I think David is going to put a link to this message on the forum home page.  Would that work?

Great idea Dan!  That is exactly why I asked Nancy to post that message!

Now that I've woke up from my Thanksgiving feast and finally have the leaves raked, I need to get that done.

Hi,
1. I tried clicking on the link on the home page for the Forum Workshops but none of the links do anything for me.

>Forum Online Workshops ERROR MSG: (Safari can’t open the page “http://localhost/n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=ws-naic&nav=messages&tid=28118&tsn=1” because it could not connect to the server “localhost”.)
>Check out the previous forum workshops. We also have a calendar of upcoming workshops.

2. And when I go to the calendar and click on the workshop link, it only gives a brief description.
Preferred Procedure: MESSAGE BUT NO LINK: All Day Event: Estimating the growth rate of a company's future earnings is one of the most difficult judgments to make on a Stock Selection Guide. Wouldn't it be
great to get a second opinion on that important judgment item? Learn how to use the Preferred Procedure, or "revenue-based EPS projection", to provide that second opinion. This class will break the Preferred Procedure down into easy to understand concepts, and provide greater understanding as to just how a company makes money - presented by Ann Cuneaz

_________
3. I finally found the list and active links, but it was a challenge to find it... HERE on the Forum help board, under "Links to Forum Workshops" topic.

DON'T YOU WANT THOSE LINKS on the homepage of BI compuserve forum to be active links? Am I missing something?

thanks,

Etana Finkler,

Etana,

I'm sorry to hear about your problems.  Apparently Safari  translates those links differently than IE, Netscape, and Firefox.  In those browsers, where you see http://localhost we see either http://community.compuserve.com or http://community.netscape.com depending on whether we came thru the compuserve or netscape gateway.  I'll report this behavior to the technicians but I don't know if they'll be able to help with this issue.  In the meantime, you could manually edit any url that has localhost and replace it with community.compuserve.com. That should allow you to see what the rest of us see.

David

When I click on the Forum Workshops link using Safari 2.0, the failure I see involves this URL:

http://n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=ws-naic&nav=messages&tid=28118&tsn=1

No "localhost" or anything similar.

well, I don't really understand this techie level. I was more concerned with my club members finding the links, because I don't mind digging deeper to find the workshop links..

.... And when I look using Internet Explorer browser, I get the correct link.

Thanks for your help!

Etana,

Some techies pointed out some errors in my html syntax on the home page. Try those links again please and see if they work for you now.

Thanks,

I'm new to this group and I'd like to say :

A.) I'm so glad I found this group. I'm a member of NAIC but was looking for a forum to discuss ideas and to help my with my understanding of investing.

B.) I'm very impressed with what I've found here. Whoever founded this group and continues to maintain it, I have to offer my high praise.

Question: Thru this site I've also become aware of Manifest Investing. Something else new! After a trial, I decided to subscribe to it. I noticed that a workshop was given on it and was wondering if it's still available for review?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Danny,

We're glad you found us too, and look forward to your active participation in our discussions.

Here is a message with links to all of the recent workshops.  I think you're referring to "Long Term Investing: What Really Matters" by Mark Robertson.  Here's a direct link to that one.

Welcome!!
