Lowell,

Attached is a spreadsheet showing my updates of the Bullish Percent Indicators. I am planning to keep track of these indicators on a weekly basis for a while.  Let me know what you think.

Bakul,

One suggestion.  I would move the "Who's Got the Ball?" material over to the first worksheet.  Then I could easily check the X's or O's with the raw numbers.  Otherwise I am toggling back and forth.  Perhaps you had a good reason for placing them in two different worksheets.

Otherwise, I really like the SS as it definitely gives one a feel for what is happening. And that feeling right now is that we have an inflated market.  Since I don't use options or go short, cash is not a bad investment. (g)

Bakul--

This is great! Thanks for putting the ss together so clearly and concisely. It will really help to tie together much of the discussion.

Bakul,

What if you placed the "Who's Got the Ball?" information adjacent to the Bullish Percent Indicator on the first worksheet?  I realize SS are quite personal in their design so you are free to say -- if you like it that way, do it yourself. (vbg)

Question: On the Bullish Percent Indicator, I assume you worked the Conditional Formatting to come up with the color.  But Conditional Formatting is grayed out.  How can I turn that back on?  It looks like you hid something.

I found the Unprotect Sheet so I'm off to make a few changes.  I'll post what I did so you can comment on my changes.

Bakul,

I'm willing to help you keep this material updated.  If we can get a few more to join this effort then there will always be a backup in case someone is away on vacation. Does this sound workable?

I've submitted a revision with your previous post. I'd like to keep the numbers adjacent to one another on a weekly basis instead of having two-tuples as suggested above.  If one wants to plot the numbers for each indicator in the future when there is sufficient data, then it's easier to do so when selecting contiguous cells of numbers.

Question: On the Bullish Percent Indicator, I assume you worked the Conditional Formatting to come up with the color.  But Conditional Formatting is grayed out.  How can I turn that back on?  It looks like you hid something.

There is nothing hidden in the worksheet.  The worksheet is protected; consequently, there are some features that are disabled as a result of this protection.  Go to Tools->Protection->Unprotect Sheet and this will unlock the worksheet enabling all the features. This shouldn't prompt you for any password as I protected the sheet without one.

Yes, indeed.  The more the merrier.  A backup and a few willing to do this will make it fun.  Besides, we don't want a single point of failure in our processes.

Bakul,

Now that is really cool!  And what a great learning tool.  We can easily click on the charts you reference and confirm the signals for ourselves.  I've never been so aware of how the market and the different sectors and asset classes are doing until this book discussion....my own holdings as well.

I just noticed that your original spreadsheet has links to the charts as well.  What a service you have provided for us.  Thank you sooooooo much!!

Does "whose got the ball" simply reflect wheter the most recent column is in X's or O's?

I'm in.  This is great. I've been wanting to learn excel and this is a good project.  I Think the columns for Xs and Os will not be necessary once we have gone through a cycle.  We will have the %s and we will see the rise and fall of each sector but in the beginning it's a big help.  Will I be able to save your spreadsheet to my computer and change it as necessary?

Bakul,

I agree with you preference to use the revised SS.  Do you think it would be useful to add a graph when more data is available?  You've done a nice job of this in some other SS you mailed out.

Bakul,

Count me in to help maintain the SS.  I entered an alert on my Outlook Calendar to update each week.  I will be out of town next weekend so I will not be the backup for you.  Perhaps we can capture Nancy's (either or both) and others to help out maintaining this SS.

Am I correct in assuming once Monday's data hits the screen there is no going back and capturing these numbers?  If so, we need to gather this information the weekend after the market closes.

Belinda,

Great.  Now we have three backups for Bakul.  Thank you, Nancy, for joining.  You are so disciplined we cannot fail.

Belinda, yes you can save the SS to your computer.  I plan to work off Bakul's revised SS as he is the keeper.  I do like the Xs and Os as it provides a warning of what may happen in the future.  If we keep the Xs & Os we can at least look to see if they gave an accurate prediction to the direction of the indicators.

My pleasure.  Are we going to share the work or are we simply backups for when Bakul is not available?  If you guys have assignments for us helpers, please advise with clear instructions.
