I'm trying to rip a CD-R disk created from a church service into an MP3 format using the "MP3" rip setting in Window Medial Player, but I'm finding that the Help (and ultimately, web-based support) seems to have nothing about how to find an encoder to add to Media Player.  Can anyone point me in the right direction here?  I'm using version 11.  Thanks!

Hi

I'vwe done a web search and come across this MP3 codec for Media Player which says it does what you want it to do:-

http://download.cnet.com/mp3-codec-for-Windows-Media-Player/3000-2169_4-10630559.html

However - I have never used this myself.

iTunes has this native functionality built in, without needing additional downloads - although you would need to change the default output format from its native .m4a to .mp3 in its Preferences.

Other software with the ability to encode MP3 files sometimes requires you to download the free LAME MP3 encoder to provide the MP3 encoding functionality
