Hopefully this will wash out quickly. When those two border guards went to jail I had hoped that the rest of the border patrol would stage a walk out or something. But if they didn't do it, there's no way the military will make any sort of public protest.

The world did seem to go mad this morning.

This. The whole "it doesn't matter if we've faked the numbers, global warming is reeeeeeaal!" thing. The determination to ration medicine even though it's political suicide. The revising the quarterly growth down. The "okay, you can have troops in Afghanistan, but not any amount you asked for and not in a timely manner."

Strange days.

Which of the following happened to me in the 5 days since I quit smoking:

1. Broke my arm.
2. Arrived in Cancun.
3. Lower back gave out.
4. Results came in from biopsy.
5. After 15 yrs., cancer has returned.
