<<<Gov. David Paterson admits to sleeping with another woman while he was married to wife, Michelle. David Paterson married Michelle Paige in November 1992. The thunderous applause was still ringing in his ears when the state's new governor, David Paterson, told the Daily News that he and his wife had extramarital affairs.

In a stunning revelation, both Paterson, 53, and his wife, Michelle, 46, acknowledged in a joint interview they each had intimate relationships with others during a rocky period in their marriage several years ago.>>>

Why is it that politician's now feel the need to tell all?  Is it because they wish to beat the media to it?

Do I care if this man and his wife have had affairs?  NOPE!

Morning Tracey,  I think you called it right.  The current day media is death on digging up anything shady they can find on public figures, especially politicians.  So, the new Gov & wife decided to beat them to the draw.  There will be no "stop the presses" where he is concerned.

Why is it, years ago, politicians could easily sneak off and be with their mistresses and the public was none the wiser to it?  Why is it today we feel this need that it is our business?

I say good for both of them for coming clean with this issue, but I really could care less about their private lives.  The former Governor's woes were due to illegal activity.

It has come out that there was no bigger womanizer than John F. Kennedy.  They say the back door to the White House was revolving when he was in office.  Jackie went out the front door and some bimbo came in the back.  I read an account from one of his Secret Service Agents about how bad he was. He would have some woman lined up in a place before he even arrived.  The Agent said it was downright embarrasing.  Still, the public heard nothing about it until many years after his death.  The press just didn't report it.  It was hush-hush with them.  Richard Nixon was another matter.  The press couldn't wait to crucify him.  And so it goes.....

I had heard about JFK.  Those were the days when discretion was assured.  Today, with society not afraid to do or say anything.  I'm sorry, but I could care less if the Governor of NY and his wife have had affairs!

You  may not, but conservatives would prefer to talk about this rather than the issues.

Since when did CNN become "conservative"?  Or, NBC for that matter.

When they let profits control their content i.e. from their inception.

Why didn't we care when JFK was President?  Or any other President before or after him?  It is none of our business what people do with their private lives, but you are so right, the conservatives will judge based on their actions.

To me, issues are more important.  Of course, being Canadian, our biggest scandal was when Margaret Trudeau ran off with the Rolling Stones! LOL

I guess Richard Mellon Scaife hadn't inherited his wealth yet then.  It was around 1964 that conservatives decided to really make an effort to take over.  They've been overwhelmingly successful in controlling the government since then, and I guess they were just really frustrated with Clinton for some  unknown reason, considering his capitulation to nearly everything conservatives wanted.

Yes, life sounds so much better in Canada.

I'm a New Yorker though I no longer live in New York. I think the problem really is in the water a lot of people, politicians and otherwise, drink. With a 50% divorce rate on first marriages and an even higher rate on second and subsequent marriages, we really need to take a step back and look at what we're doing to our society.
