New Missouri billboard tells Americans to ‘prepare for war’ against the government.

Fired Up! Missouri points out that the Lafayette County Republican Central Committee is highlighting a new billboard in the state with steps for a “citizens guide to revolution of a corrupt government“:

Missouri GOP Billboard

This billboard replaces one that warned that the socialist “Obama-Nation” is “coming for you.” It’s unclear who the owner of the billboard is, but the first one was the work of a “Missouri businessman.” (HT: Oliver Willis)

Gotta love that free speech stuff, right?

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsel or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands of those who feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you. May posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

No, that goes beyond free speech, this is advocating violence against the government, and is against the law. They over stepped the line, and belong in jail.

They are advocating the forceful overthrow of the government. Hmmmmm, isn’t that defined as treason?

You seem quite fond of throwing people in jail. Would you likewise have thrown Thomas Jefferson in jail?

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure."

They are advocating the forceful overthrow of the government. Hmmmmm, isn’t that defined as treason?

As did Jefferson and Washington. Revolution is a time-honored American tradition. You do realize that we celebrate July 4th not as an excuse to eat burgers and lounge at the pool, but to remember our Founding Fathers and their acts of treason against their own government?

Actually Cotton, it you who has been advocating people being thrown into jail, down in the States Rights section. But, you can’t compare these idiots with Thomas Jefferson, are you? These are nuts who are advocating getting rid of a government because they don’t like that they lost. Children, but dangerous children.

Really. I dont seem to recall having written any posts lately where I advocated jailing anyone. Perhaps you could find the posts youre referring to?

But, you can’t compare these idiots with Thomas Jefferson, are you?

Not at all. Im saying that they both advocate revolution when all else fails.

These are nuts who are advocating getting rid of a government........

Im sure King George must have muttered something like that.

If the government is betraying you and your constitutional rights, is it not your responsibility to revolt?
Where would we be without the Boston Tea Party, a British colony?
There is a process, though. First you speak up and be heard. Then you vote the incompetents out.
If that doesn't work, then yes, revolution is necessary. It's your right and responsibility to speak up and
be heard if you're not happy with the direction the government is taking YOUR country.
So the billboard is perhaps just a wake up call to those who just sit around in their easy chair and just
accept whatever unfair restrictions the current politicos choose to enforce upon them.

First amendment, baby!

Oh, are you advocating a revolution? You think that our duly elected leaders are corrupt? I would like some concrete proof of that. If you don’t like the government, we have a way of changing the government, you might have heard about it, it is called an election. You know, where Obama got 65 million votes.

Are you advocating revolution?

You need to reread or read the Constitution. Freedom of speech doesn’t allow one to foment violence, and advocating the forceful overthrow of the government is treason, and not allowed.

WE are the government, You lost the election, so you don’t like it? Run a better candidate.

Oh, are you advocating a revolution?

Only as a last resort.

You think that our duly elected leaders are corrupt?

They arent our 'leaders', they are our servants.

If you don’t like the government, we have a way of changing the government, you might have heard about it, it is called an election.

Are you talking about elections like the debacle in 2000 when a Republican leaning Supreme Court handed the election to Mr Bush? Are you talking about elections like Californias election legalizing medical marijuana where the fedgov ignored the will of the California voters and ignored the 10th Amnd and arrested legal medical grow-ops? Those kind of elections?

Are you advocating revolution?

Only as a last resort.

advocating the forceful overthrow of the government is treason, and not allowed.

And yet those are the VERY things we celebrate on July 4th.

I wonder what the FBI would say about this.

I am tired of people who lose elections talking about revolt. How childish can you get? IF people wanted to go in the direction of what you believe, we would change the government by elections and amendments. To consider revolution is the height of arrogance. It means you are so much smarter than the American People that you know best. YOU and your friends were NOT elected as G-d or Dictator over this country. If you don’t like what the American people elect, then leave, or WORK to change it within the system. You haven’t done that, all you and your friends do is practice shooting, well there is NO place in this country for your arrogance. Either PUT up by running and working for change, or SHUT UP.

>>And yet those are the VERY things we celebrate on July 4th.<<

So now I have to teach you American History and Constitutional History? First, I have to calm down because of the stupidity behind that comment.

We don’t celebrate REVOLUTION what we celebrate is the Declaration of Independence. We left the English Empire because we didn’t have a say in nor representation in their government. BUT, this is OUR government, we all agreed to follow the CONSTITUTION.

Have you ever said the Pledge of Allegiance? If so you agreed to this contract.

Have you ever voted? If so you agreed to this contract.

Did you ever serve in the military? If so you agreed to this contract.

You are stuck in this contract. We settled the question if Revolution, or leaving the Union was permitted in a bloody Civil War where almost 1 million Americans died. Right, you just go ahead, and the deaths of Americans and idiots will be on your head. How dare you even threaten that. Americans since the Revolutionary War have died to make this country, we have a government, which is flawed, but is a damned sight better than any other government in the world, and in your arrogance, you threaten it. You have the right to gripe, but instigating violence is not a protected right.
