We discussed many topics in this forum but seldom we touch an area that we use all the time and each of us I'm sure has a different setup and personal experience and this refers to firefox extensions. Which one do you use and why.

Here few of the new ones I have installed:

Xmarks

I have few machines that I use and also I have many VM, these extension makes all my bookmarks available in all machines. It also can do the passwords but I do not need that option.

1-Click YouTube video Downloader

I use to do it manually as it was 3 steps and some time involved now one click.

Zotero

This is a replacement for windows EndNotes. It works very well but not all the formats are there. I'm looking how easy or not is to add other formats.

And some old friend that I use all the time

Easygestures
Nukeanything
Fabtabs or Colorfull tabs

Terry,

Given the amount of time we all spend in browsers, I'm sure their customization is a very personal thing.

Here are some of my favorites

Xmarks -- like you I want to keep my bookmarks in sync among my desktops and my laptop.

Showcase -- allows me a graphical view of all the tabs I have open so that I can easily select the one I need to work with. It also lets me rearrange the tabs by dragging the windows around.

FireFTP -- a very useful two pane FTP client that I use when working on web sites to easily upload and download files. It also allows me to perform some types simple edits in place, and provides me both the filesystem location and URL of objects on my sites.

WOT (Web Of Trust) -- a community project that relates the trustworthiness, vendor reliability,  privacy and child safety of websites. WOT puts an indicator next to the URL field, you can drop down a summary list to find out why it's showing the rating it shows, drill into more detail, and provide ratings input of your own.

I added it. Thxs Doug.

was intrigued with Xmarks -started to install/signup till it seemed to want me to store my passwords online which didn't seem a good idea.

Also pondered Zetoro but didn't see why I wanted to capture a ytube video when I could just revisit the site. (finding ytube quite helpful when I am learning a new song - can see multiple versions of it there.)

also tried WOT - it doesn't seem to know about this forum
(are we safe here?)

Ben,

It is an option and it may be a good option, it all depends on in how do you use it.I do not store any password that it is important in Firefox I only store passwords that are not key. For example I store the password for this forum but not my bank account. So what is the risk of having those not very important passwords in a relatively safe server. For important passwords I use the kwallet which is close and only open momentarily to see the password if it is not in my mind.
