Q: Did Nicole Fox deserve to win 'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 13?
Absolutely: Her unique quirks and picture-perfect portfolio stand tall!
Maybe: I still can't decide.
No Way: Laura was lovely and made the most strides during the season.
The true 'Top Model' was not in the finale.

'AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL' CYCLE 13 FINALE
FIERCE LIKE A FOX: NICOLE STANDS TALL AS 'TOP MODEL'
"I'm a dork and I've won 'America's Next Top Model.'"
Granted, those aren't the words one traditionally expects to hear while conjuring up images of the runways of Paris and Milan -- but then again, nothing about this Cycle of 'America's Next Top Model' was traditional to the popular reality TV competition series.
Indeed, this Cycle proved to the modeling world that size doesn't matter when it comes to beauty! Thousands of young women, 5'7" or shorter in height, vied for the opportunity to strut their stuff in front of millions of viewers in the hopes of becoming America's first petite 'Top Model.'
14 would ultimately be chosen to participate in the competition. After weeks of intense fashion shoots, jaw-dropping makeovers, shrieks and tears of delight and fright -- as well as a shocking, pre-finale double-elimination -- the Hawaii playing field was narrowed down to two captivating competitors:
Nicole Fox:
The quirky, 18-year-old artist from Louisville, Colorado may have felt awkward in high school, with extreme shyness prompting her to hide in the bathroom stall at lunch hour, but she revealed model-like looks and poses during the competition that enabled her to deliver photo after stunning photo. However, would her subdued personality prevent her from displaying the spokesmodel qualities critical to the 'Top Model' position?
Laura Kirkpatrick:
A 19-year-old small-town southern beauty from Stanford, Kentucky, whose charming personality and command of the catwalk -- not to mention her custom-made-by-grandma wardrobe -- set her apart from the competition. Yet, despite possessing an impressive combination of outer and, most importantly, inner beauty that makes her a winner in the game of life, would her less-than-impressive appearances at the judges' panel and lack of self-confidence in the face of dealing with dyslexia -- an ongoing battle which, for much of her life, had left her feeling as if she had to prove herself to everyone -- cause her to fall short of 'Top Model' supremacy?
Last season's winner, Teyona Anderson, returned to the show that made her famous to help guide the girls through a Cover Girl commercial shoot. Laura would overcome her frustration with remembering lines during the initial takes to pick up her energy and conquer the task at hand. Nicole appeared confident from the outset with her memorization and delivery, but when she was informed that she came across as being too 'snooty,' it appeared to leave her unsettled about her chances in the competition.
A Julia Clancey runway event that featured Teyona, the return of Erin, Sundai, Jennifer and Brittany and a special appearance by Bria Murphy, Eddie Murphy's daughter (!), brought out the best in the two finalists, as they fiercely strutted their stuff through 'fire,' 'wind' and 'water' to impress a large audience -- both those at the show itself and those eagerly awaiting their modeling fate in front of the small screens across the continent.
Finally, the ladies would meet in front of the panel for the last time, as Tyra, Miss J. and Nigel Barker evaluated the women's commercials, weekly photographs and their final Cover Girl photo ... seemingly an even match, with no clear odds-on favorite, based upon the judges' remarks.
So, who would take home the title: Laura, she of 'that face,' the commercial beauty that would carry appeal across America, or Nicole, the high fashion look model that would appeal to locations around the world such as Milan?
As the photo was unveiled, we would learn that self-described 'dork' Nicole, the 5'7" girl who was afraid to speak and cried after casting week -- had ultimately turned her awkwardness into a strength, retaining her own unique style of posing to stand tall and earn her rightful place as the title-holder of 'America's Next Top Model.'
(Oh, yes, and she also happens to receive management and representation by Wilhelmina Models, a 'Seventeen' cover and six-page spread, and a $100K contract with CoverGirl cosmetics).
It was a decision that would leave Laura in tears but, after an emotional and comforting moment with Tyra, one which also left her proud of how far she had gone in the competition.
Do you agree with the judges' decision to award Nicole the 'Top Model' title, or was Laura robbed of a victory? Why or why not?
What did you think of this 'Top Model' Cycle? What were some of your favorite moments? Would you like to see another petite 'Top Model' cycle in the future?
