One New Year's Eve, I was stood up, so I went out on my own to a club. I met a guy who was in the military (air force, I think) and was stationed or training in Enid, Oklahoma, but was out visiting in California for the holidays. We did not hook up, but partied until the wee hours of the morning with he and his friend. We exchanged phone numbers and he said that he would be back out in February for Valentine's Day weekend. His friend also wanted to date me, but Mr. Air Force asked me not to date his friend, so I didn't. I assumed he wanted to be exclusive, even though it was long distance.
He said that when he came out in February, we would go to Yosemite and go skiing. I was looking forward to it, as I had never been to Yosemite. When he arrived in February, he had a hangover from partying in Enid with some girl and didn't want to go to Yosemite, but wanted to go to the movies on Friday night and to the wine country on Saturday. Apparently he spent all his money before he came, as I was expected to pay for any extras on the wine trip and I was driving! He also didn't like Led Zeppelin (a definite deal breaker...lol). I had a horrible time. He also wasn't into children and my oldest son was around 6 or 7 at the time (spending the weekend at his friend's house). After he left, I went to this local hangout to have a glass of wine, and that is where I met my husband.
This air force guy mailed me pictures, including a picture of his car! Why would I care about that? I came to the conclusion he was a complete idiot and told him so when he called, about a week after his visit. His response? He wanted the picture of his car back!
